Religious Education
Aims & Objectives
To inspire students to lead lives of love, truth, and justice by following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.
To foster a vibrant religious atmosphere on campus and cultivate positive Catholic values and virtues within our students.
Features
Religious Education at our school is a rich tapestry that actively weaves life and faith together. We guide our students to recognise the constant presence of Jesus, who walks alongside them in their daily lives. This vision is fully realised through classroom learning, interactive school‑based resources, and dynamic participation in religious traditions and community service.
In the classroom, students explore the holy life of Jesus, engaging deeply with his miracles and parables. To enrich this learning, we have developed a customised school‑based booklet filled with engaging activities and reflective prompts. This resource broadens students’ understanding of Catholicism while deepening their connection to our school patrons. Furthermore, we work closely with the Lasallian Brothers of our sponsoring body. The Brothers co‑teach select lessons, offering authentic spiritual mentorship and bringing our Lasallian heritage to life.
Faith is put into action through a strong emphasis on Christian service. Students are encouraged to put love into practice by serving their peers within the school community and reaching out to help the wider society, developing empathy, leadership, and a spirit of social responsibility.
Daily life is anchored by student‑led morning and dismissal prayers, as well as annual School Opening Prayer Assemblies in September. Graduates are honored with a Graduation Thanksgiving Mass. Throughout the academic year, students actively participate in liturgical celebrations, including Christmas gatherings, Lenten activities, and special Masses honoring our School Patrons, St. Joseph and St. John Baptist de La Salle.
By the end of their six‑year journey at SJPS, students develop a strong foundation in Catholic teaching. Equipped with moral clarity, a heart for service, and spiritual resilience, they are empowered to discern good from evil and navigate future challenges and temptations with confidence.
